Our Story

How Dear Friend of Mine began.

Dear Friend of Mine came into my mind late last year. It is the second time I have felt called to do this.

Back in 2005, I was at Cheon Pyeong for a 40-day workshop. It was summertime, and many young people were there. Several of us were placed in a “mother’s” position toward everyone. I remember a young woman coming to me to speak about something very serious and private. She felt free to tell me anything—and she clearly needed to. We would never see each other again, and that freedom let her speak openly.

That experience led me to create “Dear Anne-Marie” in late 2005. Anyone could ask me a question, and I would answer as best I could, without ever knowing who they were. The questions came not only from young people, but from adults and parents in real need of give-and-take. Other responsibilities meant I had to stop in 2009. But now I can begin again.

I have been a Unificationist since January 1st, 1973.

Your questions will be published for everyone to see, but your identity will never be revealed. We do not collect anything—including your IP address. What matters most to me is that you feel comfortable asking what you need to ask.

I will not make up answers. If I don’t feel able to answer your question well, I will seek someone else’s advice—and that person’s name and credentials will be published with the answer. You will always remain private, but the person answering will always be known.

With love and gratitude always,

Anne-Marie Mylar
